Got Questions

RACK AND STACK
FAQ

What is a rack and stack system?
A rack and stack system is a modular approach to building touring equipment racks. Individual rack cases are stacked vertically and mechanically joined to form one stable column. The Stackit Rack uses a proprietary interlocking mechanism to lock stacked units as one solid structure for safe transport and on-stage use.
What size touring rack do I need?
It depends on how many rack units (U) of gear you need to house. The Stackit Rack is available in 2U, 4U, 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U sizes. The 4U Standard is the most popular for bands and AV technicians. You can combine multiple sizes — a 6U and 4U for example — and interlock them as one unit.
Are these compatible with standard 19-inch rack gear?
Yes. All Stackit Rack cases use the standard 19-inch (EIA-310) rail specification with 470mm rail depth. Compatible with amplifiers, signal processors, patch bays, network switches, and all standard rack-mount equipment.
Can I stack different size rack cases together?
Yes. All Stackit Rack units share the same 550mm × 605mm footprint regardless of U size, so any combination stacks and interlocks. Mix 2U through 12U modules to build your exact configuration.
Do you ship touring rack cases across Australia?
Yes. GigGear ships the Stackit Rack system nationwide from Melbourne to all states and territories.
