Convoluted Foam (Egg-Crate Style)
For irregular-shaped equipment, we use convoluted "egg-crate" foam. It adapts to different profiles, adds flexible cushioning, and provides extra shock absorption in the lid or base of your case.
Australian made custom road cases and flight cases, hand-built in Melbourne with 20+ years of case-making experience. Workmanship guaranteed — trusted by musicians, engineers, government, and defence industries across Australia.

20mm tongue-and-groove aluminium extrusion joinery for a seamless, professional finish that holds under stress.
75mm zinc-finished steel ball corners protect edges and allow cases to be stacked securely during transport.
Penn Elcom sprung-loaded recessed handles sit flush when not in use, preventing damage and snagging.
Penn Elcom padlockable butterfly latches keep your gear locked down and allow for additional padlock security.
Heavy-duty rubber feet on the base protect surfaces and prevent the case from sliding during use.
Integrated steel rack strips for mounting 19" rack-mount hardware directly into the case.
Heavy-duty polyethylene foam lining absorbs shock and provides a snug fit for your equipment.
Customisations
Mention any of these when requesting a quote — we'll include them in your build specification.
For irregular-shaped equipment, we use convoluted "egg-crate" foam. It adapts to different profiles, adds flexible cushioning, and provides extra shock absorption in the lid or base of your case.
As a lighter-duty option, marine-grade carpet lining provides a softer surface and basic moisture resistance. It's durable, cost-effective, and ideal for cases that don't need CNC foam interiors.
For tools, mixers, or equipment that needs quick access, we design hinged lids. They open smoothly, stay secure, and make top-loading cases practical for frequent use.
Heavy-duty corner castors make large cases easy to manoeuvre across venues, studios and stages.
Penn Elcom base castors are the industry standard for touring – lockable, swivel-action, robust, and easily replaced.
Combine corner castors with a retractable extendable handle for easy rolling transport — ideal for large single cases moved solo.
All upgrades are priced individually — mention your requirements when getting in touch.
Get a QuoteConfiguration Guide
Every build starts with choosing the right configuration for how your gear is used, transported, and accessed.
Hinged or Removable Lid
Conventional case with a lid at the top — either hinged or fully removable. Available from small to any custom length and width.
Best for
General equipment, studio gear, instruments, and anything accessed frequently from the top.
Removable Lid Over Base
The lid lifts off and over the contents, leaving equipment exposed and accessible on the tray-like base — operational without full removal.
Best for
Heavy or large equipment that stays in use on location — mixing desks, broadcast gear, scientific instruments.
Trolley Style With Castors
Corner castors or inline wheels with an integrated extendable handle — designed to be personally handled through venues, vehicles, and airports.
Best for
Small-to-medium gear handled personally — touring musicians, broadcast crews, and frequent flyers.
