MAX1090H510-R Waterproof Case (Removable Lid)

The MAX1090H510-R is the lift-off version of the 510. Release the 12 latches and the lid comes away completely, leaving an open 1090 x 680mm tray with 440mm of depth and nothing overhead. Lid side handles make it manageable for one person to lift clear and set down.

Total capacity is 395 litres. It weighs 23kg empty and rolls on double wheels with a fold-down pull handle, with bottom-side handles for two-person lifting.

Removable or hinged lid

With 440mm of base depth, getting gear in and out past a hinged lid is genuinely awkward. That is what makes the removable version the more common choice at this size: two people can load from opposite sides of a bench, and anything tall comes straight up rather than being angled around a lid.

It is also the one to pick if the case gets fitted out with a frame, tool board or cut foam, and if it lives on a shelf where it is opened from above.

The trade-off is that the lid is a separate piece to keep track of. For repeated open-and-close in the field, the hinged MAX1090H510 is the better buy.

The 1178 x 780mm external footprint sits inside a 1200 x 800mm Euro pallet with room to strap. On a standard Australian 1165 x 1165mm pallet it overhangs the long side by 13mm, so check with your carrier before palletising a run of them.
